Unlike any Spring Girls program.

We welcome Kaleigh Fratkin & Alexa Gruschow of the New York Riveters from the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) to the CT Breakers staff. Two of the best players of the NWHL have assembled a one of a kind Spring Hockey curriculum that will challenge any player.

Kaleigh Fratkin | A native of Burnaby, B.C.,  Kaleigh accumulated 66 points as a defenseman for the Boston University Terriers where she never missed a game in her collegiate career and is tied for #1 in career games played. During her time as a Terrier, she was a three-time Hockey East Champion and made four NCAA and two Frozen Four appearances. During the 2013-14 season she served as an Assistant Captain for the Terriers, was a New England Division I All-Star, a Hockey East First-Team All-Star and was selected to the Hockey East Tournament Team. She tied for sixth in the nation and first in Hockey East with 14 power-play assists..

On the international scene, Kaleigh won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2009 IIHF World Women’s U18 Championships. Inside Canada, she won three consecutive Canadian national championships with Team British Columbia (2008-10) and was a three-time participant in the Team Canada development camp (2006-09).

Since turning professional, Kaleigh  captained the CT Whale (NWHL) last season and now plays for the NY Riveters (NWHL) where she appeared in her second consecutive All-Star game this past season.

Alexa Gruschow | A native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Alexa played in 133 games at RPI and racked up an impressive 93 points (46g-47a) during her career. Alexa was the team’s points leader in all four years at RPI and ranks #3 on the school’s Division I points list and #2 in career goals. She was named Captain and the team’s Most Valuable Player for the  2015-16 season. She was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team in 2012-13 as well as being named RPI’s  Rookie of the Year. A multiple time ECAC Hockey All-Academic selection, the Biology major was also a multiple Dean’s List honoree.


In Lieu of tryouts, we will have a “Meet the coaches skate” , free of charge, no pre-registration needed, just show up and skate!
